Workstar transforms VET sector with innovative new online technology
Asserting its market leading position and ability to deliver innovative products to meet the evolving needs of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, Workstar recently introduced "myplace", a ground-breaking online training delivery, communication and measurement solution.
Using Workstar's unique proprietary software 'Versity', the myplace platform is one of the latest offerings from one of Australia's largest accredited training providers, boasting over 7000 trainees nationally and over 80 accredited courses. myplace has an unrivalled scope in the marketplace and the potential to revolutionise the VET industry.
The award winning Versity product, currently used by clients including McDonald's, Rebel Sport, Pfizer and Repco, integrates online learning, communications, recruitment and development to provide a highly effective and efficient full service solution. Designed for extreme flexibility, usability, manageability and scalability, Versity allows its clients to create, deliver, track, assess and manage staff learning and development, giving them greater interaction and total control of the process while reducing valuable time and costs dramatically.
As the VET sector has over 400, 200 apprenticeships and trainees and touches over 57% of all Australian employers, the introduction of new technology is essential to deliver on government and industry initiatives to address skills shortages, improve retention rates and provide access and support for local, regional and rural businesses. Greg Hall, Executive General Manager of Workstar, says that many current forms of accredited training do not provide the manager with control over much more than who undertakes the training. Often it is difficult to identify the return on investment of the training to the business and to ascertain exactly what the employee has learned.
"Workstar's online training platform, myplace changes all that. Myplace is a web based solution developed to provide maximum control over training and visibility via a real-time environment that allows managers to closely monitor student activity. Progress reports ensure managers always know how trainees are performing. They also allow students to conveniently track their advancement," adds Mr Hall.
Workstar is also pioneering the development of new training methodology for accredited courseware that is assessment centric. This approach is aimed at increasing retention and completion rates as it allows students to be more focused on their skills gaps.
