The Nuance Group is the world's leading airport retailer with operations in 18 countries across four continents and over 85 years experience of serving the travelling customer. In Australia, the Downtown Duty Free brand has nine store locations across the country with over 1,400 retail staff and sales consultants. The nature of a duty free store environment demands that frontline staff have highly developed sales, customer service and product knowledge skills. Not only do sales consultants have to advise on and sell a wide range of luxury brands, fashion and electronics, they often need to do it with a limited time frame whereby the customer will soon be boarding a flight bound for another destination.
In April 2003, Workstar and The Nuance Group launched ‘Passport’, the eLearning platform for Downtown Duty Free stores in Australia. Passport provides all staff with a comprehensive range of learning including Induction, Selling Skills, Product Knowledge, OH&S and ACCC compliance.
