Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) is the national peak body of the $17 billion tourism export industry and represents the interests of over 1150 tourism export companies throughout Australia. With over 30 years experience it has a proven record of delivering professional business services, industry development initiatives and government lobbying to assist their members to grow their inbound tourism businesses.

Presently membership comprises inbound tour operators, online operators, destination management companies and tourism product suppliers. ATEC's primary role is to optimise the business success of members so that the resulting economic and social impact of tourism exports for Australians is maximised.

ATEC has partnered with Workstar to develop a Versity eLearning and eCommunication platform for its 1150 members. Known as "Export Ready", the platform has been developed in response to the absence of tourism export specific learning products in the market. ATEC intends the learning modules to allow individuals working in the sector to hone their skills and become more effective, proficient and successful in driving additional export earnings into Australia.

The launch included four elective eLearning modules titled "Know your markets"
for Korea, China, India and Japan. It also included two other core modules named "Starting a tourism export business" and "Understanding today's distribution system". Future additional learning modules will aid ATEC members in the area's of introduction to inbound tourism, profiling major markets and understanding price distribution.
